I squat 150 LBS or less, as I am a 5"9" endurance athlete. With that in mind...I find this is a well made rack, and the powder coated finish looks great. At 74 LBS it does not move. It has 4'' liftoffs and 7" safety's which are surfaced with rubber pads. I find the 7 possible positions for the liftoffs/safeties are adequate for my use.
I've seen a review where the rubber pads on the liftoffs came off after a few lifting sessions but this has not been the case for me.
I was concerned that the horizontal bar would interfere with squats. It does not, I do not step over it, but instead stand close to it, facing the bar.
However, the horizontal bar at the bottom is mounted a little high, so it can interfere with some benches. I don't use a bench with this rack so it is not an issue. You may want to buy this first and then buy a bench (which you probably already have).
After a session of Russian Dead Lifts, for example, I place my weight bar on the safeties to keep the bar off the floor and out of the way.
I did have to assemble it, but easily did so in less than 30 minutes.
I give it 5 stars if the horizontal bar were not in the front of the rack.
Great stand for the value. Heavy duty enough for professional gym
